Thank you! :)

I actually think Gingerbread Coffin fits Persephone better than it does Frau Holle. And I can see Down with the Sickness being appropriate for your tutelary spirit, too, definitely.

But you're right, a lot of these songs are very adaptable that way.

Love that post, that was just beautifully written.

I find it interesting that often the same songs will show up on people's god-playlists, but for different gods entirely depending on their personal pantheons. It's like certain songs are just ripe for that sort of meaning. Gingerbread Coffin is on my Persephone mix, for instance, whereas Down with the Sickness is on the mix for my tutelary spirit. :)

I just find it curious that as someone who doesn't often deal with the Germanic side of Heathenry to hear Her Germanic name was rather an interesting experience. :) We shall see.

And it's a good balance. In KO, the two big times are early August (Wep Ronpet/New Year) and Wesir mysteries (late November). There's other festivals like Aset Luminous and Opet, but the Kemetic calendar certainly didn't work like the European cycles. They had their own. Thank you Nile. :)

Wow, that UPG is very interesting, and maybe could feed in more to the idea of aspects among the Aesir and Vanir even more.

Well, from the reading I've done so far it seems as though Perchta was simply Her name in the southern Germanic regions. Another variant, Berchta or Behrta, starts to sound a whole lot like Bestla.

Svartesol and I have been discussing a possibly theory wherein her UPG of Holle as grandmother of the Vanir, and mine that She is the mother of Odin, are both right...which both hurts my brain and has a very compelling feel.

Yes, you're lucky that they don't compete! I don't think I could deal with juggling two separate trads for just that reason. (Well that, and my jealous Gods. :))

Thanks! :) I may want to try some more elaborate salt-dough ornaments next year, but for now I decided to keep it simple.

Awesome decorations, and I like the idea of using runes to represent the nine worlds. :)

Hm, if I weren't already doing a lot of varied holiday stuff, I'd do the house too. I did some starting work with Frau Holle, Whose name I kept hearing as Perchta instead... and toward the end She did shift and was Bestla so I wholeheartedly agree with your UPG.

Today is also Return of the Distant Goddess in Kemet, but it's more of a minor festival there. I love that the two calendars work together by NOT having overlapping major holy tides. :)

Good point about the correlation between Saint Lucy/Lussi and Holda. That might be a good time, then, for me to make my Hexenhaus (which is simultaneously for Holle, Perchta and Baba Yaga) - within the season, but separate from main Yule festivities. Plus, that night will be the first of my nine nights with Odin (leading up to the solstice), so it could work out quite nicely.
